It is with great joy that we welcome Michael F. Baber as Head of School of Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School. A well-respected leader in our Network of Sacred Heart Schools, Michael has spent his life dedicated to Catholic education. After three years as a Theology instructor at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, an Independent, Catholic school for girls K-12, Michael was promoted to Assistant Head of School. Over the past twelve years, he has lead initiatives in curriculum development and strategic planning, served on both the New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation team (NEASC) and the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals (SHCOG) commission, and stepped into the role of Advancement Director to lead a campaign that raised $21.5 million for capital improvements. He went on to serve as interim Head of School at Schools of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau and quickly established himself as an adaptive and beloved leader who approaches challenges with a clear vision and collaborative style.
Michael and his wife, Lauren, have a grown daughter, Allison, and a son, Patrick, who is in college. “I am humbled and honored to be appointed as your Head of School. I am very eager to meet everyone who shares my deep desire to advance the mission and vision of our prophetic and energetic foundress, St. Madeleine Sophie. What a privilege it is for me to join your community and to work tirelessly with you to transform our world, one child at a time.”
