Field Day 2022

Field Day is scheduled for Friday, April 22. In the case of inclement weather and we are unable to be outside, students will observe a normal class day and Field Day will postponed until Friday, April 29. Students should wear their Field Day t-shirts with shorts, socks, and shoes that they don’t mind getting wet or muddy. Students may wish to bring a towel and an additional change of clothes.

We will observe our usual school start times for all grades JK3-12. Lower school students should report to their homerooms, and upper school students should report to their maisons.

The day will begin with the topping out ceremony for the new Schaefer Family Student Life Center in the back bowl at 8:00 am. At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will begin the Parade of Athletes and enter the Kenefick Gym for Opening Ceremonies from 8:45-9:20 am. Activities for students JK3, JK4, and Kindergarten run from 9:30-11:30 am. Students in grades JK3-K will have an optional dismissal at 11:30 am or parents may choose to have these students remain at school until regular 3:15 pm dismissal. Activities for grades 1-12 run from 9:30 am to 1:45 pm. The Tug-O-War and Closing Ceremonies for all grades will begin at 1:45 pm in Kenefick Gym and should end by 2:30 pm. We will have water stations throughout the campus. For hydration, students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles labeled with their names.

Parents are invited to attend Field Day, especially for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. This is an all-school tradition that encourages our families to celebrate Goal 4: the building of community as a Christian value!

We ask that you please not bring dogs or other pets to Field Day.

SCHEDULES

LUNCH
Hot dogs, burgers, marinated grilled chicken breasts, chips, drinks, popsicles, and other snacks will be provided at no charge.

DISMISSAL
Dismissal on Field Day will be after the Closing Ceremonies. Please plan on staying until all awards have been distributed. If attending Field Day, parents may pick up their children in Kenefick Gym following the ceremonies. Any students not picked up after the awards ceremony will be taken to normal dismissal locations. There will be no Acorn Club following Field Day activities.

PARKING
Parking is available on the Upper and Lower Campuses. Morning drop-off procedures will remain normal, however, parents are asked to exercise caution as there will be extra pedestrian traffic on campus.

With construction continuing on the Schaefer Family Student Life Center, all parents, students, faculty, and staff must use the Conway Road entrance to gain access to the Upper Campus. Traffic flow around the 1929 Main Building is one way, circling from the West Door toward the East Door. The Spoede Road entrance is a construction and delivery entrance only. All visitors to the Upper Campus may exit at either the Conway Road or Spoede Road entrance.
