Oak Hill Nuts and Bolts | October 24, 2019
It seems like in the past week or two, we have really been able to see the trees begin to change and the fall weather set in. I took the opportunity to talk about this at our assembly on Monday. After flipping through some pictures of beautiful, autumn-colored trees, I pointed out to the students that these trees were beautiful because of how God made them. The trees don't ask permission to be beautiful or get worried about their appearance. What lessons of grace to be learned! I implored the students to never back away from giving their own unique "beauty" to the world. This is the way we live out our Grace. I took one step further in order to illustrate Grit. I included a few inside views of these trees as well. These trees withstand most storms and powerful winds because of their root systems digging deep into the ground. We can also dig deep within to find our strength and grit when life feels a bit "stormy." I'm looking forward to seeing everyone around campus for our parent-teacher conferences scheduled for this evening and tomorrow morning.
Dr. Peter M. Schroeder
Father Fonseca stayed after Mass this morning to talk with our second graders about their upcoming First Reconciliation and answer any questions they might have. Together, they prayed the Act of Contrition. Some said they are nervous but all agreed they are excited!
