SWIMMING AND DIVING

The Saints swimming and diving team completed their season with a 17th place team finish at the Class 1 State Championships this past weekend. With more than 40 other schools competing, our team of eight competing athletes certainly held their own. Highlights from the meet included:

A new school record and grabbing a medal with a top 8 swim in the 200 medley relay. The relay was made up of Caroline Roderick, Marly McNulty, Kate Fesler, and Carly Fesler
In diving, Annie Fox finished 10th place overall. Caroline Schneithorst finished in 20th, a strong showing for her first state meet ever.
In the 100 freestyle, Caroline Roderick placed 16th overall, and was our lone individual swimmer to make it back to finals.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Caroline Roderick, Judy Clark, Marly McNulty, and Carly Fesler placed 11th overall and established a season's best time.
In the 100 breaststroke, Marly McNulty placed 24th in what was her first individual state event of her career.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Caroline Roderick, Carly Fesler, Hattie McNulty, and Marly McNulty placed 16th overall.

Congratulations to the swimming and diving team on another fantastic showing at the state championships!

BASKETBALL

Varsity faced Cor Jesu, a tough MWAA opponent, last week. No matter the score, the Saints continued to play hard and never gave up. Katie Rodrigues contributed five points, while Mollie Griesedieck and Alexandra Dalaviras chipped in three points each.

Last Wednesday, the JV team defeated Whitfield 40-23. The Saints played a great game with outstanding team defense; Sophie Walbrandt scored 12 points. On Thursday, JV played a very close game with Cor Jesu. The game was a defensive battle but Cor Jesu pulled away at the end with a couple of key three pointers. Mairin Schweppe scored six points and Allison Smith scored five.

The Saints will host their annual "Pink" games today in Kenefick Gym against Rosati-Kain. Junior Varsity plays at 4:30 pm and Varsity plays at 6 pm.

SPRING SPORTS TRYOUTS

The spring season for lacrosse, soccer, and track and field begins Monday, February 25, with intramural tennis beginning Monday, March 4. Any student who wishes to try out for a team must be at the first session. In addition, all student-athletes must have a physical on file prior to the start of tryouts.
