Oak Hill Nuts and Bolts | February 7, 2019 If you haven't had the opportunity lately to visit the Duchesne Building, I invite you to drop in to see the numerous flags that now decorate the walls of Condie Hall. These flags represent the 41 countries around the world where children can benefit from a Sacred Heart education. Symbolically, this does a few things for us. Without a doubt, it calls to the larger network of Sacred Heart schools. When we leave our building, we take with us our identity as global citizens; we are aware that we belong to a larger world community with cares and concerns outside of ourselves. In addition to this, we, as Sacred Heart educators, strive to daily inspire our students "to be active, informed, and responsible citizens locally, nationally, and globally" (Goal Three)!
Blessings,
Principal Pete Schroeder and Head of School Michael Baber bestow merit awards during this week's Merit Assembly. GOOD NEWS Bravo to the students who received merit cards at our Merit Assembly on Monday. To elevate this wonderful Sacred Heart tradition, the assembly was moved to our Chapel to connect our efforts to the goodness and glory of God. Dr. Schroeder began the morning reminding the students of the biblical notion that a city on a hill cannot be hidden. He went on to add that it would not, should not, and will not be hidden. The gift of God's love and grace is ours to share. Our way to make a difference in the world begins with us integrating more and more of our "hilltop" moments with others.
