Passport to Summer

Passport to Summer 2019 welcomes students from all schools to experience athletics, academics, and adventure at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School.  All programs take place on our award-winning campus, located at the corner of Conway and Spoede Roads.

Day Camps (boys and girls age 3-grade 6)

Day Camps are open to boys and girls from all schools entering JK3 through Grade 6. Campers are grouped by age and ability with staff selected to meet each group's needs. The cost is $295 per week with a discounted rate of $2,250 if a camper attends all eight weeks. 

Day Camps include:

  • Themed programs from 9 am to 3 pm

  • Before and after care beginning at 7:15 am and ending at 6 pm

  • Hot breakfast, lunch, and snacks served daily

  • Weekly field trips to St. Louis attractions

  • Staff trained in CPR and First Aid with a Registered Nurse on campus

  • Daily swimming lessons or free swim with Red Cross Certified Lifeguards

CAMP HOLIDAZE | June 3-7 & June 10-14

Celebrate all of your favorite holidays! Dress in costume for Halloween, bake cookies for Christmas, dye eggs for Easter, show your spirit for Fourth of July and more in this holiday-themed camp. The first week includes a trip to Upper Limits; the second, a trip to Sky Zone. 

CAMP EINSTEIN | June 17-21 & June 24-28

Aspiring scientists, get ready to explore engineering through LEGO robotics and participate in science projects and computer coding. The first session includes a trip to The Magic House; the second, a trip to the St. Louis Science Center.
 
LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! | July 8-12 & July 15-19

Become the star that you were born to be! Perform, record, edit, and release your own movies to share with fellow campers and parents. Both weeks include a trip to an area theatre for age-appropriate movies. 


AQUAPALOOZA | July 22-26 & July 29 - August 2

This session is now closed!

Aquatic adventures commence as campers learn about the depths of the ocean and explore the wonders of the sea. Campers will launch water balloons and enjoy maritime escapades. Each session includes a trip to an area water park. 

Youth Athletic Camps (Boys and Girls Grades K-8)

Youth Athletic Camps are open to students from all schools entering Kindergarten through Grade 8 at the cost of $125 per session, unless otherwise noted.

High School Athletic Camps are limited, per MSHSAA regulations, to Villa Duchesne students entering Grades 9-12 at a cost of $125 per session.

Service & Academic Camps (Villa Duchesne Students Grades 7-12)

A cornerstone of a Sacred Heart education is Goal II: to educate to a deep respect for intellectual values and Goal III: a social awareness which impels to action. Passport to Summer is pleased to offer these service and academic opportunities to our students.

ACT Bootcamp | June 17-27 | $400 | Grades 11-12

This “boot camp” style prep course is conveniently placed just before the July 13 ACT. It has been designed to help students become better test-takers by practicing sample tests and honing their skills. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 10 am to noon. 

 

Bringing Our Heart to the San Francisco Bay Area
June 24-28 | $925 | Grades 11-12
This session is full!

Join Principal Bridget Collins as she heads to Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton, California. Students will stay at the Sacred Heart School in Atherton and will receive 40 hours of service for their work with the RSCJ living at Oakwood retirement community, participating in beach cleanup, and working with the marginalized in the San Francisco area. Expenses include transportation, activities, and most meals.

Global Studies Summer Seminars (Villa Duchesne Students Grades 10-11)

Global Studies: Santa Fe | $1950 | May 30-June 5 

The Global Studies: Santa Fe seminar is an interdisciplinary study of the history and art of the American West. The seminar is designed to introduce students entering their junior year to themes in their upcoming United States History course and will be led by Fine Arts Chair Christine Sarra and Social Studies teacher Costan Spina.

The course will explore U.S. history and art through the lens of the American West. Students will experience the often-untold stories of cultures of the American West. From stories of Native Americans, to the Spanish and Mexican period, to the annexation by the United States, New Mexico offers a fascinating exploration of the complexity of U.S. history and art. The highlight of the course includes a four-day trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Class dates are May 30-31 and June 5, 2019; travel dates are June 1-4, 2019.

Global Studies: New York | $1950 | May 28-June 1
The Global Studies: New York seminar gives students entering their sophomore year the chance to explore the concept of globalization by travelling to New York City to explore the international history, culture, and economics of this great metropolis. Working with Social Studies teacher Rebecca Rubin-Schlansky and Theology teacher Stacy Henning, students will enrich their learning by visiting the financial district, the 9/11 Memorial, Ellis Island, and other sites. They will also learn skills helpful in their sophomore World Civilizations II course. Class dates are May 28-29 and June 3-5, 2019; travel dates are May 30-June 1, 2019.
