Welcome from our Villa Duchesne Principal
Our education is one steeped in Sacred Heart charism with an eye to the future. Our students are part of the International Network of Sacred Heart Schools, which develops students who will be leaders in their communities and the world.
Our students succeed in all of the conventional measures of a great secondary school, college acceptances, ACT scores, athletic success, and accolades in the theatre and arts, and we recognize that to be well educated and well prepared for her future, a student must learn both in and out of the classroom.
Our education is much more than what happens in the classroom. The experience is one in which the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education are embedded into the daily life of the students. These five goals, by which all Sacred Heart schools in the United States are governed, are to commit to educate to: a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, social awareness which impels to action, building of community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom. We focus on the unique character, academic gifts, and the spiritual development of each student.
Our students strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives, and it is our responsibility as Sacred Heart educators to provide those opportunities. To this end, we consistently work to enhance our programs while celebrating the rich traditions that are Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School.
We look forward to meeting you. Our education is a partnership with your family. This has been my experience as a student, alumna, and administrator in Sacred Heart schools. Being a member of the Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School community truly is “coming home.”

WELCOME FROM OUR OAK HILL PRINCIPAL
Oak Hill was established with the firm belief that each child is an incredible gift from God. Throughout our classrooms, our faculty and staff echo the sentiment of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, “For the sake of one child, I would have founded the Society [of the Sacred Heart].” It is a sentiment shared by our 147 sister schools around the world as members of the International Network of Sacred Heart Schools.
The Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education are the bedrock for learning at Oak Hill. These five goals, by which all Sacred Heart schools in the United States are governed, are to commit to educate to: a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, social awareness which impels to action, building of community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.
The students at Oak Hill benefit from a faculty committed to this holistic approach for each child. We have established learning environments which use the best educational research to engage our boys and girls in a rigorous curriculum. With great programming and thought-provoking lessons, we support students throughout their journey of self-discovery and self-transformation. Together we, the teachers and students, strive upwards toward academic and intellectual greatness and stretch outwards towards empathy, compassion, and solidarity with those in our world.
As a result, we settle for nothing less than to fully inspire our children to a lifelong love of learning and personal growth. It is an honor to partner with parents in this sacred journey to educate the hearts and minds of children. We invite you to take the first step by scheduling a visit.
