English

At Villa Duchesne girls learn to write well. One hundred percent of our seniors are ready for college-level work in English (compared with only 73 percent in the state and 66 percent in the nation). The cornerstone of the Villa Duchesne English program is the individual writing conference. Each student meets individually with her English teacher an average of six times per year to conference her writing. Each student revises her work so that she can submit a new composition, based on the discussion in conference and the completed editing changes, for a second grade.

"Villa Duchesne is special because, unlike many other schools, Villa is constantly working to make changes that would best benefit the students. Also, not only does Villa support their students in participating in community service, but they also go above and beyond to support you to make that possible. They provide a safe and friendly environment for everyone, and it is a wonderful place to attend school."
