Welcome from our Villa Duchesne Principal

A Villa Duchesne education is one steeped in Sacred Heart charism with an eye to the future. Our students are part of the International Network of Sacred Heart Schools, which develops women who will be leaders in their communities and the world.

Our students succeed in all of the conventional measures of a great secondary school, college acceptances, ACT scores, athletic success, and accolades in the theatre and arts, and we recognize that to be well educated and well prepared for her future, a student must learn both in and out of the classroom.

Your daughter’s education at Villa Duchesne is much more than what happens in the classroom. The Villa experience is one in which the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education are embedded into the daily life of the students. These five goals, by which all Sacred Heart schools in the United States are governed, are to commit to educate to: a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, social awareness which impels to action, building of community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom. We focus on the unique character, academic gifts, and the spiritual development of each young woman.

The Villa Duchesne student strives for excellence in all aspects of her life, and it is our responsibility as Sacred Heart educators to provide those opportunities. To this end, we at Villa Duchesne consistently work to enhance our programs while celebrating the rich traditions that are Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School.

I look forward to meeting you and your daughter.  Our education is a partnership and once your daughter comes to Villa, she will always be a Child of the Sacred Heart. This has been my experience as a student, alumna, and administrator in Sacred Heart schools. Being a member of the Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School community truly is “coming home.”

"My daughter has gone from being too shy to open her mouth during the concert in preschool to a scholar, a thespian, an athlete, a debater, and a philanthropist. All of these opportunities came through Villa Duchesne - all of them. When she finished her last day, she came home in tears. I asked what was wrong and she said that she will miss her teachers. I asked which ones and she replied, "All of them!"
