Annual Giving is one of the most important fundraising programs at Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School. Annual Giving is an appeal to all members of our Sacred Heart family for unrestricted funds which support the School's annual operating budget. Fund contributions from parents, alumni, grandparents, former parents, former grandparents, faculty, staff and friends help the School meet recurring operating expenses such as curriculum development, faculty compensation and integrated technological support not covered by tuition, fees or endowment income.
Annual Giving allows Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School to attract the most experienced, educated and talented faculty; makes funds available for enrichment programs, technology initiatives and varied extracurricular activities; and provides the necessary funding for building maintenance and grounds keeping.
Reasons to Give:
There are six main reasons why we need your Annual Giving support:
- While tuition is the main funding source for our current academic, service and enrichment programs, the cost of educating each child is substantially more than tuition.
- Annual Giving donations make an immediate impact on our school and our students, paying for essentials such as teacher salaries, school supplies and electricity.
- We rely not only on our current families but also on our alumnae/i, former parents, grandparents, former grandparents, faculty, staff and friends to help us meet our annual operational needs.
- The philanthropic exercise of giving is central to our Catholic faith, and a spirit of generosity is one of the foundations of our Sacred Heart heritage.
- Annual Giving gifts are 100 percent tax deductible and are put to use the same year they are given.
- Annual Giving allows us to keep tuition to a minimum, thereby allowing us to recruit the most qualified students regardless of financial ability.

Everyone involved in Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School is asked to make a gift to Annual Giving each year. Parents, grandparents, alumnae/i, faculty, staff and friends all contribute to Annual Giving because they care about Villa/Oak Hill. Our participation sends a vital message to the community: our people, who are the closest to the heart of the school, support its mission. Participation in Annual Giving is a reflection of our community's loyalty and commitment to the goals and ideals of a Sacred Heart education. It allows us to improve the quality of education we offer by supporting programs like:
- Expanding the technology network to include new Tablet PCs for 6th through 12th grade faculty
- Recruitment and retention of talented teachers and staff (57% hold advanced degrees)
- Student Moot Court through the Federal Courts Outreach Program
- Field trips to the Sheldon Theater to experience jazz
- New classroom furniture to enhance the learning environment
