Villa Duchesne freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are among the first in the country to use Tablet PCs in each one of their classes. Our Tablet PC program has since been implemented in our Middle School as well. This impressive tool serves both as a notebook and as a PC. Depending on their learning styles, students can use a special pen to take handwritten notes, which can be converted to text; draw pictures and diagrams directly onto the screen; use the built-in microphone to record lectures; or use the keyboard to type notes. Students keep files, folders, and various assignments organized and use School e-mail to communicate with teachers and fellow classmates. And, they can access the web for research or homework while walking down the hallway or sitting under a tree. It's changing the way students learn and teachers teach, infusing technology seamlessly into the curriculum!
