Diane Everitt

          Mrs. Everitt currently teaches 8th grade religion, which is Sacraments/Church History/Morality. She earned her Bachelor of Educational Studies in Educational and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. This is her 11th year teaching, and her 5th at Villa Duchesne.

 

 

Diane Gioia

            Ms. Gioia currently teaches 9th grade, Moral Development/Personal Growth, and 12th grade Psychology. She just returned from Taiwan through the Sacred Heart Cultural Exchange program. Diane obtained her Bachelor of Educational Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has been teaching 10 years, all of which have been here at Villa Duchesne.

 

Irene Herbst, RSCJ

          Sr. Irene Herbst, RSCJ, currently teaches 7th grade religion, and is the 7th grade moderator at Villa Duchesne. Her teaching experience includes 46 years in Sacred Heart schools, 23 of which have been at Villa Duchesne. She has taught in Sacred Heart schools in New York (Albany, Rochester, and Buffalo), as well as Bloomfield Hills, MI, before coming to Villa Duchesne in 1985. She earned her A.B. from the University of Detroit, and her M.A. from Manhattanville. The Theology department is truly blessed to have her Sacred Heart experience with us!

 

Ashley McEnary
              Mrs. McEnary
graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a degree in English and studied Theology through the Arch-diocese of St. Louis.  She taught 8th grade Theology from 1999-2007 at Chaminade College Preparatory and is now teaching Villa students in 9th and 10th grade Theology.   

John Winston Powell

           Mr. Powell teaches 11th grade Theology, Social Justice, as well as sections of 12th grade Theology, Faith & Spirituality. He moderates the clubs Pax Christi (a club that focuses on creating a world based on the Peace of Christ through non-violent actions) and Amnesty International. John earned his B.S. in Telecommunication from the University of Florida, as well as his M.A. in Theology from Barry University. This is his 18th year teaching, and his 8th at Villa Duchesne.

 

Jeannie Steenberge 

          Mrs. Steenberge is returning to teaching after staying home with her 3 children for 15 years.  Her last teaching assignment was at the University of Minnesota in the department of English.  In the meantime she has been working on her Master's degree in Theology from St. Louis University.
