  Edline

Since 2005, Villa Duchesne has implemented a new online communication tool called Edline. Edline is intended to be easy to navigate, saving teachers time, and further developing parent-teacher-student-school communication. This web site provides timely and relevant information to the school community in a variety of ways and has become a companion to our Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School web page.

In conjunction with software used by Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill in our SIS (student information system)-Senior Systems, grade book-Jackson GradeQuick, and office applications, Edline has transformed the website into an extraordinary extension of our school, where each visitor sees the exact targeted information that we want made available.

Activation for Grades 7-12 began August 24, 2005 and continued its phases into the School's active use until full implementation was completed January, 2006.

The processing steps taken to get everyone activated and online:

  • Spring Pilot Program with a small group of teachers and families
  • Evaluate responses to use during the Sprng Pilot Program
  • Distribute activation codes to teachers and students in school. Grades 7-12 parents and students will be activated during the months of August, September and October. Students and parents who were activated during the spring pilot program will remain active from that program. Teachers will be given activation codes during our August planning days and into September.
  • Provide training and support to students, parents and teachers throughout the first quarter. Ongoing support and training will be provided from August through December for anticipation of full implementation in January, 2006. A mandatory parent meeting is scheduled for two different evenings; Tuesday, September 27 or Wednesday, September 28, 2005. These meetings will be held in the Auditorium from 6:30-7:30 P.M.
  • Full implementaton by January and continue to provide support and information to all teachers and families
  • Provide online guides to getting started. See the links listed below.

Edline Features
