Middle School & High School Athletics

SportsmanshipOur athletic program provides invaluable lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition, and self-discipline. The program also plays an important part in helping students develop a healthy self-concept as well as a healthy body. At Villa Duchesne, middle school students participate in basketball, field hockey, volleyball, soccer, track & field, and lacrosse. Our high school students compete in cross country, basketball, track & field, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, golf, softball, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, and swimming & diving. Our student athletes grow in skill as well as in integrity, accountability, and honesty.

Excerpted from an August 13 ABC League Press Release:  "The ABC League has added its first new member as part of the process of expanding and converting to a co-ed athletic conference. Villa Duchesne has accepted the invitation extended by the members of the current ABC League. The addition of Villa Duchesne to the schools currently affiliated with the ABC League allows the newly formed conference to move forward with a foundation of seven schools, six of whom [sic] (John Burroughs, Lutheran North, Lutheran South, MICDS, Principia, and Villa Duchesne) will compete in girls' sports and six of whom [sic] (John Burroughs, Lutheran North, Lutheran South, MICDS, Principia, and Priory) will compete in boys' sports. Villa's affiliation with the new conference will become effective with high school sports played during the 2012-2013 school year. The two year period allows the schools to transition their current schedules as well as invite prospective new member schools to apply to join the conference."
